It allows individuals, groups, organizations and businesses to impact the filmmaking process and build brand awareness affordably, while the filmmakers make their dream a reality.

“We’re ready to make Valley of the Sun, we just need some cash, that’s all,” said Stokes McIntyre, director of Valley of the Sun and owner of Hotbed Media. “I’ve been working on this film for about five years now, it’s been my passion.”

With capital for small-budget films increasingly difficult to come by, the director and producers of Valley of the Sun hope to introduce an alternative to the painstaking route of traditional film financing. At $1.5 million, Valley of the Sun’s budget is similar in size to films like The Station Agent, Half Nelson, Kissing Jessica Stein and Transamerica. The budget will cover all costs associated with production, post-production and promotion.

“We’re basically selling Internet advertising to finance this film. It’s very exciting because I can reach out to anyone and see if they want to purchase a pixel on the film’s website, which will link to sponsor websites for the life of the film,” continued McIntyre.

As long as the film is around, sponsors will benefit from continued “click-through” traffic to their websites. Beta sponsors have already begun seeing the benefits of pixels purchased and receive approximately thirty click-throughs per month, and that number will only continue to grow.

During the financing stage, production and distribution phases of the film, the filmmakers will use grassroots outreach, media relations and word of mouth as a means to market the film and the website, thus allotting continued Internet advertising for film sponsors.

> Visit the Valley of the Sun website

About Valley of the Sun
Valley of the Sun is being produced by Hotbed Media and Ranch House Pictures.

About Hotbed Media
At Hotbed, we produce and direct commercials, branded entertainment and documentaries.
